What changed for 2027 (and what didn't)
Hyundai lists the gas 2027 Kona as a carryover model, and the price sheet backs that up. The four trims (SE, SEL Sport, SEL Premium, Limited) return at the same MSRPs as the late-2026 lineup: $25,500, $26,825, $28,425, and $32,535 with front-wheel drive. The only money change is the destination charge, up $50 to $1,650. Content moved in two small ways. The SE no longer has Idle Stop and Go, the engine stop/start system, which the SEL Sport had already dropped during 2026. Ambient interior lighting, previously listed on the SEL Premium, is now reserved for the Limited. Everything else carries over: the 147 hp 2.0L and 190 hp 1.6L turbo engines, the 12.3-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on every trim, the full SmartSense safety suite, and the boxy second-generation body introduced for 2024. EPA numbers on fueleconomy.gov are also unchanged for 2027. The N Line trims that Hyundai dropped for 2026 do not return, so buyers wanting the sportier look have to settle for the 19-inch N Line-derived wheels on SEL Premium and Limited. Reports of a redesigned third-generation Kona point to a 2028 model year at the earliest.
